The Aventon Sinch electric bike is a well thought out fat tire folder with some seriously upgraded components, plenty of power and an eye for design.

Power — 500 nominal watts, 80 Newton meters

The Aventon Sinch folding electric bike has a powerful 500 watt gearless hub motor with 80 Newton meters of torque. The roll on of power with this motor is smooth and consistent and feels plenty powerful for all but the most grueling hills.

Speed  — 20 mph

The Aventon Sinch folding electric bike has a top speed of 20 mph, which can be reached using the throttle or pedal assist. This top speed is a bit slower than some other similar folding electric bikes, but the good news it makes it a Class 2, which is legal to ride in most areas.

Battery and Range — 48 volt 14.5 ah, 60 miles

The Aventon Sinch folding electric bike runs on a 48 volt system and has an 14.5 amp hour battery for an estimated max range of 60. Just like with miles per gallon with a car, the max range is an estimate based on ideal conditions. Real world range will almost certainly be quite a bit lower. The battery here is locking and removable and is internally stored within the main tube. It can also be charged while in the bike, so need to remove it unless you’re looking to swap it out with a fresh one for an extended ride.

Pedal assist sensor — Cadence sensor

The Aventon Sinch folding electric bike is equipped with a cadence sensor that measures the rotation of the cranks. Like most cadence sensors, this one has a slight delay from the time the cranks start and stop moving and the motor activates and deactivates.

Display — LCD

The Aventon Sinch folding electric bike has an LCD display with all the essential electronic feedback, including current speed, average speed, top speed, odometer, tripometer, pedal assist level and more.

Frame and weight — Aluminum alloy, 68 pounds

The Aventon Sinch folding electric bike comes in one frame size and one color — white with black accents. The white pain is slightly iridescent and glows in the sunlight. It looks nice. The curb weight of the Sinch is about 68 pounds, which is a bit on the heavy side, but considering it has front suspension, fat tires, a hefty motor and battery, it’s not all that surprising.

Suspension —  RST, 45 mm of travel

The Aventon Sinch folding electric bike has RST Guide suspension with 45 mm of travel. This suspension does a great job of smoothing out the ride, but they’re definitely not made for any serious off-road treks. Light trails are fine and even some small jumps, but nothing to gnarly.

Gearing — 7 speed, Shimano Acera

The Aventon Sinch folding electric bike uses a Shimano Acera derailleur and has 7 speeds which can be selected through the Shimano trigger shifter on the right side of the handlebars.

Brakes — Mechanical disc, 180 mm rotors

The Aventon Sinch folding electric bike uses mechanical disc brakes with 180 mm rotors in the front and rear, providing more than enough stopping power. The brake levers also have motor inhibitors built in, which instantly cuts power to the motor whenever they are depressed, ensuring the shortest possible stopping distance. This is a great safety feature, especially for an electric bike with a cadence sensor.

Warranty — 1 year comprehensive, Lifetime frame

The Aventon Sinch folding electric bike has a 1 year comprehensive warranty and a lifetime warranty on the frame, which is pretty incredible considering the price point.

Price — Starting at $1,499.00

Starting at $1,499.00, the Aventon Sinch folding electric bike is an incredibly good buy for what is being offered.

Who’s it for — Commuters on with limited space and budget

The Aventon Sinch folding electric bike feels like a good choice for riders with limited space and budget. This would work particularly well for travelers, and RVers and campers come to mind as this bike would be ideal to stow away and then take out for some trail riding when the time comes. Overall, the Sinch is a fun ride with plenty of power and range and is quite well thought out. It’s not just a good value buy, but it also looks great too.
